Lifting the Looks of your Business Premises

Largely functional in nature, lifts can be easily overlooked when it comes to commercial buildings and public spaces. Although lift technology is far from new, many lifts in commercial premises have been installed in relatively recent times.

In some cases they may date back to the 1960s and however well presented the rest of the office is, the lifts can be something of a let-down and not in a good way.

However, it is possible to have a full, professional lift refurbishment completed to make these most humble of functional spaces feel and look just that little more user friendly.

Energy Saving Devices

One of the biggest motivations for modernizing commercial premises and public buildings is energy efficiency. Because of their functional nature, lifts can often be overlooked when businesses or public bodies are on an energy saving spree. However, in bigger, busier premises, the lifts are often in constant use, day and night. This means that they can be an essential factor in any energy saving plan. Lift refurbishment can, with the right firm, reduce the overall cost of running a lift by up to forty per cent which is a saving that most businesses will be happy to make.

Perfection in Presentation

Over the years lifts can become a little tired looking. In any firm first impressions count but it doesn't matter how gleaming your reception area is, how welcoming your reception staff are or how tastefully furnished your foyer and waiting areas are if you’re lift looks like something normally used to transport heavy goods in. Worn out fixtures and fittings can only add to the tired and depressing look, while a lift that has been modernized  updated and refitted will add a subconscious ‘tick’ to the minds of business visitors. Atmosphere can be crucial to your firm’s survival, so don’t let your lifts let you down.

Healthy Options?

While lift refurbishment is not essential to perfect operation every time, regular maintenance and upgrading when necessary can help to avoid the constant deployment of the “out of order” sign. While many of us are interested in our health, and it doesn't hurt to take the stairs once in a while, easy accessibility to all floors, for you staff and visitors is essential. Access for disabled users is also an important factor and it’s only fair and sensible to ensure that everyone has access all to all areas.

Lift refurbishment is often overlooked but cannot only create a finishing touch to those first impressions, but can help to save energy and reduce the running costs of your building.
